Converting Odds to Other Formats

From Decimal Odds to American Odds:

  • - If the decimal odds are 2.00 or higher:
  •   - American Odds = (Decimal Odds - 1) * 100
  • - If the decimal odds are less than 2.00:
  •   - American Odds = -100 / (Decimal Odds - 1)

From American Odds to Decimal Odds:

  • - If the American odds are positive:
  •   - Decimal Odds = (American Odds / 100) + 1
  • - If the American odds are negative:
  •   - Decimal Odds = 1 - (100 / American Odds)

From Fractional Odds to Decimal Odds:

  • - Decimal Odds = (Numerator / Denominator) + 1

From Decimal Odds to Fractional Odds:

  • Subtract 1 from the decimal odds.
  • Convert this number to a fraction.
  • Simplify the fraction to its simplest form.

From American Odds to Fractional Odds:

  • Convert the American odds to a fraction by placing them over 100.
  • Simplify the fraction to its simplest form.

To convert negative American odds to fractional odds:

  • Take the absolute value of the American odds.
  • Create a fraction by placing 100 over the absolute value of the American odds.
  • Simplify the fraction to its simplest form.

From Fractional Odds to American Odds:

  • → To convert fractional odds to positive American odds (if the numerator is less than the denominator):
  • - American Odds = (Denominator / Numerator) * 100

Example Conversion from Decimal Odds to American:

  • - Decimal odds of 1.50 would be -100 / (1.50 - 1) = -200 in American odds.

Example Conversion from American Odds to Decimal:

  • - American odds of +200 would be (200 / 100) + 1 = 3.00 in decimal odds.
  • - American odds of -200 would be 1 - (100 / 200) = 1.50 in decimal odds.

Example Conversion from Fractional Odds to Decimal:*

  • - Fractional odds of 3/1 would be (3 / 1) + 1 = 4.00 in decimal odds.
  • - Fractional odds of 1/3 would be (1 / 3) + 1 = approximately 1.33 in decimal odds.

Remember that when converting odds, rounding can sometimes affect the precision of your conversions, particularly when converting to fractional odds which are traditionally expressed in the simplest form.
